Jeremy Renner Explains How He Felt About The Fan Reaction To His Whereabouts In Infinity War
A great deal was made regarding the whereabouts of Hawkeye before Avengers: Infinity War hit theaters and after it arrived, fans grew even more concerned. People were afraid that Jeremey Renner's character might not even be in the movie after he was left entirely out of the film's marketing, and as it turned out, he wasn't. While many are still wondering exactly what's going on with their favorite archer, Jeremy Renner has spoken about what it's like to see such support for his character. It's certainly nice to feel wanted, and Jeremy Renner clearly feels that. We may never have known just how many fans Hawkeye actually had if he had been a regular part of the movie. Fans can certainly be passionate, but death threats to the directors of Avengers: Infinity War seem to be overdoing it a little. Jeremy Renner might be exaggerating to USA Today but it's also possible that fans were so upset about a lack of Hawkeye in the latest Marvel movie that they went after the directors. To be fair, even one death threat qualifies as "too many"
While we know that Jeremy Renner was on set, and therefore must have filmed something, during the back-to-back Avengers 3 and 4 production, we now know that everything he did was actually for next year's big finale, as the actor never appears in Infinity War. We're told in the film that Clint Barton has agreed to a deal with the government to be placed on house arrest, as living a life on the run simply wasn't going to work for the one Avenger that had a family.
Fans began to suspect something was up when various pieces of marketing, from tweets to movie posters, omitted Hawkeye entirely. Whenever the Russo Brothers were asked about it, they would indicate that the fact that we never saw Hawkeye in any trailer or commercial was important to his story, but they, of course, stopped short of explaining it was because him not being in the movie was part of that story.
What exactly Avengers 4 has in store for Hawkeye is unclear, though odds are it won't be good. The man had a family, and with half of all life in the universe gone, probability dictates that he's lost some of them to Thanos, giving him as much motivation as anybody to take the fight to the Mad Titan. We'll find out for sure when Avengers 4 arrives next year.

The script problems caused Bond 25 to shift its release date back from February of next year to April. If Daniel Craig's injury had been more severe another potential delay may have been in the cards, but it now seems like that won't be necessary. Craig's injury came near the end of Bond 25's time filming in Jamaica.
