Why Aquamans DVD Wont Have A Commentary Track, According To James Wan

The Aquaman Blu-ray, DVD and Digital release is on the way this March. Weve already learned the release will feature a Shazam! sneak peek and other special features, but if you were hoping for a commentary track from James Wan you may not be happy about the set. Thats because James Wan revealed he hasnt done a commentary track since his Saw days. Heres what the director had to say about commentary in relation to his new superhero release:

I dont do commentary track[s]. Havent done one since my Saw days. I believe in retaining a little bit of filmmaking mystery still. (Already plenty of behind-the-scenes/making ofs.)

Per what James Wan had to say on Twitter, the director is thoroughly uninterested in sitting in a room for the duration of a 2+ hour movie and revealing a slew of making of secrets and stories about that movie. He likes the mystery of movie magic and wants to keep his work close to the vest.

Commentary tracks are generally for the die hard fans anyway, the ones who want to immerse themselves in and engage with a slew of facts related to how a movie got made. These movie buffs will likely have other forums for gleaning facts related to the movie.

And anyway, the whole purpose of owning a copy of a movie is to revisit the actual movie whenever you want. The Digital release for Aquaman will be coming in just a few short weeks on March 5. A 4K, Blu-ray and DVD release will happen a little later, starting on March 26.

A previously rumored look at Shazam! has also been confirmed by Warner Bros. James Wan also gets his own featurette on the Blu-ray and DVD called James Wan: World Builder. Other extras include Scene Study Breakdowns (which sound like they could be short mini-versions of commentary), Atlantis-oriented content and more. You can take a look below.

There's usually a three-month window between the start of a theatrical release and a movie's home entertainment release. For a movie like Aquaman this is less of a big deal. You can still catch the DC and Warner Bros. flick in movie theaters right now; therefore the transition into watching the movie at home should be pretty seamless. If you'd like to go ahead and order your own copy of the flick, we have you covered. In addition, you can look into Shazam! and the other upcoming DC releases with our full guide.

In addition to signing up for small roles in Deadpool 2, it seems that the members of the X-Force were extra generous with their time. While on break they shot extra footage for the trailers, to keep the fandom off the scent of the team's true fate.

Seth Rogen Is Seriously Psyched About His Lion King Role

Seth Rogen Is Seriously Psyched About His Lion King Role

Aside from its animated feature films and behemoth franchises like Star Wars and the MCU, Disney has a new genre that's been proving very successful: live-action adaptations. Starting with movies like Maleficent and Sleeping Beauty, the House of Mouse has begun producing live-action versions of some of their most iconic animated movies. Now Disney is turning its head on the Oscar nominated classic The Lion King, and bringing in some insane talent to fill out the voice cast. While there's plenty of attention being paid to Beyonce and Donald Glover's upcoming performance as Nala and Simba, the supporting cast is also star filled. Seth Rogen will be playing the beloved warthog Pumbaa in The Lion King, and recently revealed why he's so jazzed to be apart of the A-list cast.

It's thrilling! It's amazing for many reasons. One is because I'm a big fan of The Lion King. Two is because it's the most expensive movie I'll have anything to do with probably, so that's thrilling. Jon Favreau, the director, I've known since I was 18, is a very close friend of mine. So again, it's always exciting to get to work with people that you know well. Yeah and we're good friends. Overall it's surreal. It will be weird when it comes out.

Looks like Seth Rogen is #humble. While he's been working since back in Freaks and Geeks, The Lion King marks the actor's most expensive and biggest flick to date. Pair that with the rest of the cast and director Jon Favreau, and Rogen is downright thrilled to be included.

Seth Rogen's comments to ET echo the excitement and anticipation fans are feeling about a live-action version of The Lion King. While the upcoming adaptation is still a year away, the idea of seeing a new, rich version of the iconic animated blockbuster is enticing.

Seth Rogen will be playing Pumbaa in The Lion King, a role originated by Ernie Sabella in the original 1994 classic. A warthog with a flatulence problem, Rogen will be sharing the majority of his scenes and songs with Billy Eichner's Timon. The pair is a dynamic duo and casting gold, especially if they're able to riff and improv with each other in the booth. It should be interesting to hear Rogen's singing voice, as Pumbaa has a major vocal feature in Hakuna Matata (it means no worries).

Disney's live-action Lion King will arrive in theaters on July 19, 2019. In the meantime, check out our 2018 release list to plan your next trip to the movies.

Mission: Impossible Drops A Funny Video About Tom Cruise's Stunt Double Being Bored

Mission: Impossible Drops A Funny Video About Tom Cruise's Stunt Double Being Bored

Do you know what the easiest gig in Hollywood has to be? Being Tom Cruise's stunt double. Seriously, the guy does ALL of his own stunts. Even when they involve performing more than 100 skydiving jumps to that director Christopher McQuarrie can capture a brilliant and terrifying mid-air skydive chase scene. To play up that fact, Paramount and Uber created a funny video that shows how Cruise's stunt double passed his days on the set of Mission: Impossible -- Fallout. As you might imagine, it involves a lot of snacking at the craft service table. Check this out:

Where do I sign up to do this? Honestly. Tom? You are busy filming Top Gun: Maverick right now. Need me to hang around in case, for whatever reason, you don't want to climb into your cockpit? I'm your man. Need me to stand in while they block the lighting for your next scene with Goose's son, Miles Teller? I'm a qualified candidate. If you need me to fill in on one of THESE shots, though, I may have to bow out:

The reason Paramount teamed with Uber on this comical video is because the ride-sharing company is sponsoring the live stream of the world premiere of Christopher McQuarrie's upcoming Mission: Impossible -- Fallout, the sixth chapter in the ongoing saga of the unstoppable Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise). The cast and crew -- and CinemaBlend! -- will be traveling to Paris next week to attend the premiere and cover the carpet. And now, thanks to Uber, you can follow along in the fun by heading over to YouTube.com/UberWorldwide on July 12 at 12:30 pm EST / 9:30 am PST.

As for Mission: Impossible -- Fallout, we are being told that this mission will be a personal one for Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise), though we don't yet know what that entails. His love, Michelle Monaghan, is back in the fold, and Ethan's team needs to shoulder a watchdog, played by Henry Cavill. But it's still going to be a backs-to-the-walls thrill ride as Team Hunt hop-skips from Paris to New Zealand and all points in between to stop a new threat to our planet.

Mission: Impossible -- Fallout opens in theaters in RealD 3D and IMAX on July 27. For a complete rundown of every other movie reaching theaters this year, bookmark our 2018 Movie Release Calendar.
